William Longworth of Horwich, 1793

Father: Henry Longworth.  Bequeaths land called Horn Platt [?] in Aulston [?], Lancs.  Signed 29th June 1791.  Witnesses: William Orrell, Thomas Morris, Margaret Morris.  Exors sworn in 21st April 1793.  Probate issued 13th May 1793

 

James Longworth, Husbandman, of Horwich, 1751 (Admon)

Widow: Katherine Longworth.  Sworn in William Pickering of Bolton, Gent. and Edward Entwisle of Bolton, weaver.  Admon dated 16th Sept 1751 infra.

 

Henry Longworth of Halliwell, Yeoman, 1808

Wife: Margaret - annuity of £20 from leasehold messauges in Withnell.  Children as follows:

Exors: Revd. William Hampson of Little Hulton, Thomas Reed of Bury, Yeoman, son-in-law.  Dated 22nd August 1807.  Witnesses:  William Pendlebury, Joseph Wroe, Jeremiah Makinson.  Testator died 5th November 1807, Probate issued 22nd February 1808.  Codicil: £6 to Isaac, son of Mary Longworth of Heaton

 

Thomas Longworth of Sharples, Yeoman, 1812

Daniel Longworth & his wife Betty - a house in Sharples on lease for 999 years, in the possession John Smith.  Son: John Longworth.  Exos: James & William Longworth.  Signed 4th January 1812.  Witnessed by John Mayoh, James Longworth, William Longworth.  Estate under the value of £450.  Probate issued 17th June 1812.

 

James Longworth of Little Bolton, Farmer, 1813

Brother William Longworth - tenant rights to his dwelling house.  Sister Mary £150.  Owed £60 by nephew William Horrocks, owed £20 by nephew Christopher Horrocks, sons of late sister Ann.  Remainder of estate divided into quarters: (1) brother William, (2) sister Mary, (3) John Longworth, son of late brother Thomas Longworth, (4) shared between late sisters children; John, Mary, William, Christopher & Joseph.  Exors: John Longworth, son of late brother Thomas, John Longworth of Heaton (my cousin), John Horrocks of Anderton, John Longworth, son of my brother William.  Witnesses: Wm. Hulton, Wm. Alison, Oliver Ormerod.  Testator died July 4th 1813, probate issued 13th September 1813.

 

Ann Longworth of Horwich, 1741 (Admon)

Son: James Longworth of Horwich, Yeoman.  Also named Samuel Greenhalgh, fustian weaver, of Horwich and Samuel Mason of Bolton, Reel maker, infra.  Dated 9th November 1742.

 

John Longworth of Bolton, Plumber & Glazier, 1772

Has shop in Windy Bank [?], Bolton.  Wife: Ann.  Children Hanney[?], John, and Nancis[?], youngest under 21 in 1760.  Exors: Thomas Smedley of Little Bolton, Chapman, and uncle James Longworth of Knowlsely, Glazier, Dated 21st Sept 1760.  Witnesses: Ralph Taylor Jr., Wm. Mason, Edward Whitehead Jr.  Exors sworn in 20th Jan 1772.  James Longworth of Chorley refused to take on execution of the will, 9th Jan 1772.

 

James Longworth of Little Bolton, Chapman, 1777 (Admon)

John Howarth of  Little Bolton, yeoman, husband of sister Hannah.  Also Thomas Morris of Little Bolton, weaver and James Howarth of Turton, husbandman.

 

Mary Longworth of Little Bolton, Spinster, 1820

Exos: John Longworth of Heaton (kinsman [?]) & John Longworth, son of late brother Thomas.  Signed 11th January 1813.  Witnesses: Hulton, Wm. Smethurst, John Hulton.  11th September 1820, John Longworth of Heaton and John Longworth of  Sharples sworn in.  Estate valued at under £1000.

 

Hugh Longworth of Blackrod, the Elder, Yeoman, 1745

Eldest son Hugh, already made various settlements, including "Joshua Longworth's house & croft".  Son Hugh owes £50 to be given to daughter Catherine.  Wife Sarah.  Daughter Catherine gets 'Ranson field' on lease to Ralph Fogg.  Son George Longworth, has wife called Hannah.  Signed 16th Jan 1742, witnesses: Thos. Ainscow, Edward Jolly and James [illeg.].  Probate issued 2nd August 1745.
